2017 Florida Top Prospect Showcase
Peyton Bourque is a 2018 RHP/1B, 3B with a 6-1 225 lb. frame from North Fort Myers, FL who attends North Fort Myers HS. Large frame with present size and strength that aids in most facets of his game. Primary righthanded pitcher with a balanced delivery and a shorter arm path. Mid three-quarters arm slot and the upper and lower halves work well while being synchronized. Good downhill plane on his fastball and was up to 84 mph. Hides the ball well with his shorter arm action. Curveball showed solid spin and flashed bit when low in the zone. Hard changeup with little movement but functioned as a nice change of pace pitch. Quick to the plate with a ground ball approach on the mound. Mixes pitches well and kept hitters off balance. Secondary infielder with good arm strength. Deliberate actions with a third base profile and maintained body well on the charge. Lefthanded hitter with good pull side raw power. Strides into contact and remains balanced. Gets extended well and often with big time leverage and strength to the pull side. Lower hand set and looking to hit home runs. Shifts weight well forward with a very loud barrel. Named to the 2017 Florida Top Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List. Excellent student.
