Steven Grimsley is a 2008 LHP/OF with a 5'11'', 170 lb. frame from Winter Springs, Florida, who attends Winter Springs HS. Named to the Top Prospect Team at the event. Grimsley has an athletic frame with good projectability. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a loose arm. He stays online to the plate and stays tall over the rubber. He showed his present arm strength as his fastball topped out at 86 mph. He also gets good life on the pitch. Grimsley throws a loose curveball at 70 mph, and mixes in a change-up at 74 mph with sink. Defensively he makes accurate throws from the outfield, and has good arm strength (84 mph). He moves well in the outfield with instincts and reactions. At the plate he is a right handed hitter with a rotational swing. He gets good bat speed through the hitting zone. Grimsley is a line drive contact hitter who makes consistent contact. He is a good student as well.

Steven is a two way player, OF/RHP with smooth 7.38 sixty speed and 4.56 home to first base speed. He shows good 80of arm strength with solid footwork. A RH hitter with quick bat speed and will jump all over the inside pitch. Uses lower body well. He has good balance in his swing and will use the whole field. Should be able to hit in college. Shows good power with line drive swing plane. In the OF did play well in the games with good range on some well hit fly balls and good arm strength on his throws. On the mound he showed 81fb,68cb, and 73change. He has a strong athletic frame with broad shoulders. Throws from a 3/4 arm slot with loose and frre arm action. He has a quick arm and thorws strikes with all three pitches. Smooth mechanics with a semi-eractic release point. He is very good when he gets extention. CB is best pitch with good spin. Occasionaly he spin put more on it and show late darting bite. Sometimes he does rush his delivery. Sharp cb has more sweeping action. He is deceptive and hides the ball well. Likes to throw his change up and it is a decent pitch. CB is his out pitch. Named to Top Prospect game.
