Justin Frias is a 2009 1B/OF with a 6'3'', 195 lb. frame from Pembroke Pines FL, who attends Everglades HS. He has a big body with a wide frame and plus present strength. Frias' best tool is his bat. He hits from a spread stance which he lengthens even more with a stride to start his swing. Frias has a long swing but it has bat speed and power behind it. He's looking to pull the ball and showed the juice in his bat both during BP and during game action. It's a swing that depends on timing and the pitcher putting the ball in the right place but Frias knows what to do with it when he gets his pitch. Defensively, Frias is a good target at first base and showed soft hands and some mobility with his feet. He's a 7.51 runner. Follow for his power hitting potential.

Frias is a 6-0, 190 lb freshman first baseman from South Florida with very good strength for his age. Frias ran the 60 in 8.00 and threw 72 mph in infield drills with a loose, projectable arm. He hits from a high hand set up with a short path to the ball in his swing. Frias is good on the ball on the inside half and shows quick and strong hands. Like many young hitters he tends to reach for the balls away from him. Frias had a nice double during one of the camp games to show his potential and should keep improving with experience and maturity. Keep an eye on him for offensive upside.
