Bobby Hernandez is a 2005 right handed pitcher/outfielder from Key West Florida with a solid build at 6 ft. 2 205 pounds. He pitches from a 3/4 slot with very good arm action. He has good form and sound mechanics. He hides the ball well from hitters and is deceptive in his delivery. His fastball topped out at 88 mph with very good armside run. He showed a decent 11-5 curveball at 69 mph. He showed a 76 mph change with slight sink and good deception. He was very effective in his four innings of work showing good command and striking out five hitters. He has a strong arm from the outfield topping out at 88 mph with good accuracy and carry. He also had a decent round of BP but his future is definitely on the hill. Bobby is a very good student.

Bobby Hernandez is a 2005 RHP/OF from Key West, FL. Hernandez was a last minute addition to the Showcase, but made his presence felt right away. Ironically, it was more as an outfield prospect than as a pitcher, his listed primary position. During outfield workouts Hernandez showed big league average arm strength and had some of the best outfield actions of any player at the event. During batting practice, Hernandez showed above average bat speed and power potential to all fields. He has an attacking, balanced swing that covers all parts of the plate and hits to all fields. Hernandez then proceeded to blast a long home run during the first showcase game off a pitcher throwing 83 mph. This young man is definitely a position prospect after all of that. Hernandez didn’t show badly on the mound, either. He has a small, quick back side arm circle and good extension out front on his fastball. Hernandez’s fastball was 85-86 mph and was sneaky fast as it jumped on hitters because of his arm stroke. Hernandez’s 73 mph change up was a good secondary pitch, but he still has some work to do on his curveball. He noticeably slows his arm on the pitch and casts it up there at 63 mph. At a strong 6'2/205 he has a very bright future.
