Thomas Nichols is an exciting, 6-1/170 (2007) two way player from Leesburg, GA. A RHP/MIF with 7.33 sixty speed and 4.59 home to first time. Thomas was one of the top hitters at the event with a tremendous batting practice session. A right handed hitter, he showed off college power and very good hand strength with college hitting tools and good power. He has a very nice swing with balance and leverage. A next level type hitter. Thomas has very good bat speed and some nice lift in swing. Thomas was the first pitcher to take the mound at the event and set the bar with very good life on an 83 mph fastball, a good tight developed spin on a 68 mph curvebal, and out pitch level command on 73 mph change up. Thomas is very athletic with actions on the field that get noticed by coaches and scouts. In the infield he showed good glove actions and quick feet. He has an above average transfer and a ball with carry through the bag from shortstop. He showed 75mph velocity across the infield with clean athletic actions. He will be on many follow lists for high level college programs. He was named to Top Prospect game as pticher and is a an excellent student as well with a 3.93 gpa.

Thomas Nichols is a 2007 RHP/MIF from Leesburg, Georgia, with a lanky 6'1", 170 lb. frame. Nichols throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a short arm arch, and good mechanics and arm speed. His fastball topped out at 81 mph and he had good control of the pitch. Nichols' best pitch was an 11 to 5 curveball with a sharp break that dropped off the table at times. Nichols pitched 4 innings at the event, and 8 of the 12 outs were registered by strikeouts. He is a very promising pitcher. Offensively he is a left handed hitter who hits from an open stance with a compact swing and solid bat speed. Nichols has a good coiling load, and squares up well on balls in all parts of the strike zone. He uses a gap to gap approach with projectable power. Defensively he has good range and actions in the middle of the field. He is a competitor with a good attitude and confidence. Nichols is a solid two way prospect with a projectable body . He has a bright future, and is a must follow.
