Pedro Mercado Ramirez is a 2013 LHP with a 6-1 156 lb. frame from San Juan, PR. Slender young build, lots of room to fill out. Fast paced drifting delivery with long stride out, full arm circle, arm works well coming through. Fastball topped out at 83 mph, has gained velocity in the last month, has good late fastball life, works to the bottom of the zone and pitches to spots. Throws two types of breaking ball, big breaking curveball with good spin and 2-plane shape, shorter slider with sharpness at times, tends to slow arm somewhat on breaking ball release. Developing change up. Has the ability to pitch and mix it up, hits corners and will back door right handed hitters effectively. Very good chance to keep improving.

Fast paced delivery with big leg raise, high arm circle with high 3/4's slot, quick arm coming through, tends to overstride at times and lose leverage. Fastball topped at 80 mph, has deception and fastball gets on hitters quickly, mostly straight. Tends to drop elbow on curveball but uses it well, big rolling 1/7 break. Pitches aggressively and has pitchability, mixes and throws to spots. Has the tools to keep improving.
