Right handed hitter, slightly open stance, opposite field approach, stays inside of the ball and has line drive swing plane. Quick worker on the mound with downhill motion and repeatable mechanics. Big 11/5 curveball is best off speed pitch. Has present pitchability. Good student.

Matthew Sturchio is a 2013 C/RHP/3B with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Rochester, MN who attends Rochester Century HS. Medium compact frame. Compact swing, simple and effective swing mechanics. Stays balanced, solid pure hitting ability, sound swing, line drive plane, solid tools. Good setup behind the plate, lacks lateral movement to block from side to side. Good catch & throw mechanics, good lower half use, medium arm action, good arm strength, good extension. Pitches from high three quarter arm slot, big slow downer curveball break, good changeup with sinking action and similar arm speed, solid slider. Gets extension out front, mixes pitches well, needs to repeat delivery better but stays around plate with all four pitches. Good student.

Quiet plate approach, open stance, throws hands well, rhythm hitter. Good extension, some strength at contact, uses opposite field well, also drives middle, ball carries off the bat well when squared up. Clean arm action defensively, online throws, solid arm strength. Pitches from a 3/4 slot, long arm action, smooth balanced delivery with good extension. 12-6 curveball has good spin and depth to break, needs to improve feel for changeup, fastball flashes occasional cut action.
