Clarke Schmidt is a 2014 RHP/SS with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Acworth, GA who attends Allatoona HS. Slender young build, minimal present strength. Back turn/rock back delivery, long deep arm action, lands open out front, high 3/4's to over the top release point, best stuff from lower slots. Consistent 82-84 mph fastball, mostly straight, curveball flashes good spin from lower slots, good shape and depth, around the plate with all pitches. 7.18 runner, shows his arm strength from both infield and outfield, actions and athleticism best suited for third base. Right handed hitter, aggressive swing, good looseness out front, sets up at front of batter's box, consistent pull line drive contact, will improve with additional strength. Improving every time out. Good student.

Physically reminiscent of brother Clate, 2011 Perfect Game All-American. Pitches from 3/4 slot with short arm action. Quick worker who has a good idea of how to pitch. Consistent with mechanics. Maintained fastball velocity well. 11/5 curveball is solid #2 pitch with good feel. Uses changeup with sink well. Stuff projects on mound. Athletic INF with feet. Moves well laterally, light on feet with range to hole. Very long arm action with good carry. Arm projects. Short swing path at the plate with a line drive swing plane. Swing projects as strength is added to frame. Very good student. Named to Top Prospect Team.

Sound delivery, compact arm action, 3/4's arm slot, repeats delivery well and keeps ball down in the zone consistently. Mid 70's fastball, topped out at 78 mph, fastball has good sink, will come inside with fastball, curveball shows tight spin at times with good 2-plane break, works ahead, should continue to improve with strength. Right handed hitter, simple contact swing, keeps hands in tight, line drive plane, consistent contact.
