Right handed hitter, closed front side, swings hard, back side doesn't get through,, very good raw bat speed and power, ball jumps hard, big time BP power, kill fastballs. Good agility at first base, sound footwork and soft hands, solid defender. Very good student.

Austin Edens is a 2014 1B/3B with a 5-11 200 lb. frame from Baton Rouge, LA who attends St Michael the Archangel HS. Solid athletic build, very good present strength for his age. Right handed hitter, closed front side and shoulder, very aggressive power approach, over aggressive at times, looking to pull and lift, uppercut swing plane, has bat speed, ball comes off the barrel hard, can drive the ball, will have to adjust to quality off speed pitches. Soft hands at first base, shows agility, nice game picks, will contribute on defense. Excellent student. Named to the Top Prospect Team.
