Blake Cairnes is a 2014 3B/RHP with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Douglasville, GA who attends Hiram HS. Strong thick build, fairly mature physically. Right handed hitter, short line drive swing, keeps hands tight, tends to cut off his swing out front, strong enough to drive the ball, all fields, squares up well. 7.21 runner, good arm strength at third base with on line carry, has some foot quickness and lateral range. Grades out better as a pitcher on this look. Standard turn and throw delivery, over the top arm slot, tends to leave backside over the rubber, arm works well, stays on line. Consistent mid 80's fastball, topped at 88 mph, has gained 7-8 mph over the last year. Very good student.
