Shane Simpkins is a 2012 RHP with a 6-1 192 lb. frame from Northampton, PA who attends Notre Dame-Easton HS. Strong athletic build, mature look. Hand drop delivery, drifts out to front side, very long stride, full deep arm circle, tight high 3/4's release, loses leverage and height at release. Steady 84-86 mph fastball, mostly straight. 12/6 downer curveball flashes some spin when over it, will have to improve ability to throw it for strikes. Will have to shorten stride to improve command/stuff, lands severely on his heal. Signed with Lackawanna College.

Shane Simpkins is a 2012 RHP/1B with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Northampton, PA who attends Notre Dame-Easton. Lean ahtleticly built pitcher. Showed long arm action and a downhill plane, got on top of the ball well to create sinking action on fastball. Able to pitch without a lot of effort, showed good command of his fastball, hitting spots well. Solid break on 11-5 curveball and mixed in splitter well. At the plate he showed some raw bat speed and a line drive swing.
