Hector Ponce is a 2014 RHP/OF with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Culiacan, MEX who attends Prepa Abierta. Strong build, mature look. Slow paced drop and drive delivery, long arm action, extended 3/4's arm slot, shows ball in back. Mid 70's fastball, topped out at 77 mph, mostly straight but spots fastball. Tends to slow body on secondary pitches, slurve type curveball in the upper 60's. Has some hitting tools due to strength, right handed hitter, dives in hard to contact, hits out front, hard line drive contact, handles the barrel hard, aggressive swings with some bat speed. Grades out higher as a position player. Good student.
