Nick Noonan is a 2007 left hand hitting middle infielder from Francis Parker HS, residing in San Diego, CA. Noonan has a lean and athletic build on his 6'1" 175 lb. frame, with considerable room to fill out. He was ranked #18 among PG National Top 100 position players. His all-around skill set is one of the most complete of all '07 high school middle infielders and yet he is still a work in progress. Noonan's ceiling is quite high but even if he stopped developing today, he is still a top tier player. He hits from a square stance and his body sets up well at the plate. His hands are set in a still position where they stay until he swings. That hand set looks a bit tense and seems to take away some power that might otherwise come from a more rhythmic approach to the ball. However, Noonan has no trouble getting his hands started and he has a quick bat. When he keeps his shoulders square and does not work to lift the ball, he can hit with anyone. His swing is easy and his hands are good. Noonan has excellent balance while he swings and rarely gets fooled. He does have some power and will continue to develop more as he gets more physically mature. In the field he is a plus defensive player. He has a strong arm but tends to rely more on a quick release and good baseball sense than pure arm strength. Noonan takes good angles to the ball and can make plays on the move. He is generally pretty smooth and quiet with his actions and looked comfortable at shortstop or 2nd base. He seems to play with a calm, cool demeanor and stays quite consistent. Noonan ran 4.37 home/1st and posted a 6.81 laser timed 60 yard dash. He is a good athlete that is still growing into his body. He is one of the nation's most recruited middle infielders and will also get significant crosschecker attention this spring.

Nick Noonan is a 2007 SS from Francis Parker HS, residing in San Diego, CA, with a 6'1" 170 lb. frame. Noonan was named to the top prospect team at the California Underclass Showcase, was written up in the Top Prospect list, and was invited to the National Showcase. He has an athletic build with lean strength and fluid movements. A left handed hitter, Noonan has a quiet set-up and a quick trigger, possessing excellent bat speed. He has an effortless swing and generally stays pretty flat through the strike zone. Noonan should hit for high average while hitting line drives to all fields, but he does flash some power, generated from his excellent bat speed and lean strength. He gets to the pull side easily and will surprise pitchers that challenge him in. Noonan handles velocity and quality pitching because with that short swing he is a line-drive hitter to all fields. There are times when some lift creeps into his stroke. On defense, Noonan has plus actions in the middle of the diamond. He has an excellent release and makes fluid movements to and through the ball. Noonan was not at full strength in January, but in the past he has shown a very strong infield arm, while also showing up to 90 mph on the mound. His body control is excellent, resulting in good lateral range to his left and right. Noonan has good hands and can make throws from all the angles. He is one of the top middle infield prospects in the '07 high school class, is a top D1 prospect at the national level, and will earn considerable pro interest in the coming year.

Nick Noonan is a 2007 middle infielder/third baseman from San Diego, California with a lean, very athletic looking build at 6'0", 160 pounds. He hits from a narrow upright stance with a quiet approach. He has a compact swing, with quick hands and creates very good bat speed. He shows good bat control and he hits hard line drives using the whole field. He has good core strength and has the potential to hit for power. He is very athlectic and ran a 6.94 in the 60 on a soft track. Noonan has quick actions on defense and showed very good range. He has a strong arm at 78 mph across the infield with smooth arm action and a quick release. He is a very talented player with an extremely projectable body. He should be a very high level prospect in 2007 with draft potential. Nick is a good student.
