Nicholas Natale is a 2007 right hand hitting outfielder from Seton Hall Prep, residing in Hoboken, NJ. Natale has a lean, athletic build on a sinewy 6'1" 170 lb. frame. He just looks like someone that can really run, and he can certainly do so. Natale has a very interesting set of tools and it is fascinating that he is yet another talented player from Seton Hall Prep. Some of his high school teammates are among the most highly regarded prospects in the nation and as time goes by, Natale has a chance to develop quite nicely in his own regard. At the plate Natale appears to be a spray, line drive type hitter when at his best. He has good bat speed and is aggressive at the plate, taking a number of big swings. At times it looked like he wanted to get behind the ball and hit for some power rather than just letting that part of the game come to him, which it eventually just might do. There are some very good raw tools to work with on the offensive side, one of them being plus speed. If he is dedicated to being a line drive/ground ball hitter, Natale would be very hard to get out. If he commits to that approach, in the coming years his mistakes will leave the yard. In the outfield Natale has centerfielder tools, though he may not play center on his high school team. His raw arm strength rates as solid average, enough for centerfield. Natale's range is good and he showed that he can go and get the ball, with an explosive first burst. His 4.59 home/1st time is indicative of a big swing, but his laser timed 6.51 60 time is indicative of his plus speed and quick twitch athleticism. Natale is going to get a chance to impress the pro baseball community because crosscheckers are going to spend an awful lot of time watching Seton Hall Prep this spring. There actually may not be a more highly scouted high school program in the nation. Natale is a projectable player with tools that will have to be developed further, whether that is at the D1 level or in pro ball, but he does have good tools.

Nicholas Natale is a 2007 OF/MIF from Seton Hall Prep in Hoboken, NJ, with a 6'1'', 165 lb. frame. Named to the Top Prospect Team at the event. He is a lean and athletic player with very good speed. He had the fifth best sixty time at the event, and his speed is playable both defensively and on the bases. He has very good tools in the outfield with good arm strength and very good online carry on his throws, and he uses his speed and instincts to get to the ball quickly. Natale has the ability to play any outfield position. At the plate he hits from the right side and shows very good bat speed and an overall nice looking swing with good extension. Natale has an aggressive swing and attacks the ball driving it hard showing raw power, especially to the pull side. He has continued to improve at the plate and is a must follow for the 2007 class. He is a very good student as well.

Natale is a slender 6-1 sophomore outfielder from New Jersey that we’ve seen frequently in the past. He looks a bit taller and has added some strength in his hands and upper body. He’s still very slender with greyhound like legs. Natale’s best tool is his speed. He’s a 6.88 runner in the 60 and should improve on that as he gets stronger. At the plate, Natale hits from a tall stance with a lean back load and a line drive, gap to gap type of approach. He showed his improved hand strength in batting practice and hit some balls hard that jumped off his bat well. Defensively, Natale has developing arm strength at 74 mph and his speed helps him get to some balls in the gaps. He is a very good student.

Nicholas Natale is a 2007 athlete from Hoboken, New Jersey, with very good speed (6.91 at Duke and we’ve seen him quicker) and athletic ability for his age. We’ve seen Natale plenty this summer and sometimes forget that he’s a sophomore. Natale works out both in the infield and outfield and we like him better in the outfield, where his arm strength and speed play better. Two things are very important for Natale over the next few years. First, of course, is adding strength to his very slender 150 lb. frame, which will give him better bat speed and bat head control. The second is to play more aggressively on his toes and use his speed and body life to his advantage. Natale likes to play and works hard at his game.

Nicholas Natale is a 6'0" right handed hitting athlete from Hoboken, New Jersey, and the Class of 2007. He has a low waist and plenty of room to get stronger throughout his body. Natale’s best raw tool is his speed, which is big league average in the 60. Natale plays both shortstop and the outfield, and we feel that all his tools and actions play much better in the outfield. He has a long arm stroke and shows better arm strength in the outfield that should continue to improve. His speed should be plus on defense as well. At the plate, Natale hits from a no load, no stride approach with little forward movement through the ball. He’s not strong enough to swing the wood bat right now with this approach. Every once in a while Natale will get the bat head out and through the ball and show some bat speed, but this is one part of his game that will need the most attention and should improve the most naturally with strength gains.

Nicolas Natale -- Natale is a freshman infielder from New Jersey who was one of the youngest players at the Showcase. He has a tall but slender body that he hasn’t started to grow into yet. He projects very very well. Natale’s best tool right now is his running speed, which is exceptional at his age. On a dry track he’s already a solid above average big league runner. Natale’s strength makes it difficult for him to handle wood and create good bat speed but he showed us an aggressive approach at the plate and made good contact against live pitching. We think Natale will hit for power as he grows older. He shows good defensive ability for his age but he will need to get more looseness in his throwing arm. He's very athletic and very young, keep a close eye on him. Nicholas is a good student. Nicholas could end up being a highest level prospect over the next couple of years.

Natale is a fleet-footed "07" infielder who showed best at second base with good actions. His body has lots of potential to gain the strength needed to elevate his tools and develop into a solid prospect over the next 2 and a half years. As just a Freshman in High School, Natale showed some outstanding actions and he even ran a very fast time on a slow track. He has a good swing and we expect big things from him each of the next 2 years. He has a lot f time to develop and grow into his already impressive actions. Follow this 2007 grad, he could be very special !
