Max Shupe is a 2006 third baseman/right handed pitcher from Alameda, California, with a large frame and strong mature build. He has strong thighs and lower half. At third base he shows good mobility and awareness. He is a big kid and middle of the line up type hitter. The ball jumped off the wood bat, and should be even better with aluminum. On the mound, he has an even tempo delivery from a 3/4 arm slot with a curveball that occasionally drops off sharply. Shupe has the potential to be a good two way player. His bat is very interesting. Max is a very good student.
