Matt Simonds is a 2007 3B/P/1B with a 6'2'', 195 lb. frame from Atlanta, Georgia, who attends Pace Academy. He is a tall, strong, and athletic player with upside as a two-way prospect. Defensively he has nice footwork at the corner infield positions. He has solid arm strength on his throws with good accuracy. Simonds is a very good defensive third baseman. At the plate he is a right handed hitter with quick hands from a low hand set. Simonds gets good leverage at the point of contact showing very good present power. He uses the whole field hitting line drives all over. Simonds has huge power projection that should allow him to be a middle of the order run producer at the next level. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a balanced delivery. He gets good running action on his heavy fastball that topped out at 85 mph. He gets good fade and sinking action on his changeup at 74 mph. His live arm and power bat make Simonds a top level two-way prospect. He is also a good student.

Matt Simonds is a 6'2"/175-3B(2007) from Atlanta,GA with very good actions. A 7.61 sixty runner and 4.93 home to first base speed, he can flat mash. Strong hands and leverage in his swing a RH hitter with present college power that will only get better. Hits the ball deep in the zone and can drive the ball to all fields. Really loads up and comes unglued at contact. In the infield he shows very good arm strength,(80if), and uses his feet well. Good instincts for 3b with good first step reads. Advanced size and strength. National leve player. On the mound he showed 83fb, 71cb, and 72 change up. Throws from a ave 3/4 arm slot with above ave arm speed and short comapct arm action. Well above ave command on all pitches with ave life on fb. Good change up and he works quick. Very efficient on the mound. Great Athlete. Named to Top Prospect game.
