Jose Garcia is a 2006 shortstop/right handed pitcher from Ontario, Oregon, with a small frame and lean build. He has room to hold more muscle in the future, and bring his game to a different level. Garcia has lively actions at shortstop, with good sure hands, and quick feet to stay at the position. He profiles real nicely as a college 2B. At the plate, the ball jumps off his bat, and he shows some nice gather with his hands, natural timing, and centers the ball well. He projects to be a good hitter with line drive capabilities. He does need to improve his running ability some. On the mound, Garcia topped out at 75 mph with his fastball, and mixed in a 66 mph curveball. Jose is an 06 who could show dramatic improvement in his physical skills over the next year.
