Johnathan Schroeder is a solidly built 6'0" third baseman from Clearwater, Florida. At the plate, Schroeder has very good hand strength. He hits with a big hand drop that leaves his hands low when he starts his swing. We imagine that his strength lets him get away with this with metal in his hands, but it’s not a sound approach with wood. Schroeder is probably better evaluated in a metal bat environment. Schroeder also pitched a couple of innings, throwing 72-74 mph with some tailing and sinking action on his fastball, along with a 61 mph curveball. His defensive skills are playable and he handles himself well on the field.
