Ryan Burgess is a 2009 OF/P with a 5'11'', 170 lb. frame from Richmond, VA who attends Steward. Ryan has an athletic build and was the top hitting prospect at the event. From the left side Ryan shows good bat speed and quick hands and can drive the ball to any part of the park. He has good power potential and even hit a homerun during the games. In the outfield Ryan has clean actions, but he might project best at first base where he has good footwork and is a clean fielder. On the mound Ryan has a short arm action and throws from a 3/4 arm slot. He does a good job of making hitters put the ball in play, but his mechanics have a way to go. Ryan is a player that can swing the bat at any level in college and will be a highest-level college prospect.
