2007 Hawaii Showcase Tournament
Brian Harris is a 2007 C with a 5'11'', 190 lb. frame from Folsom CA, who attends Folsom HS. He has a well-proportioned body, with broad shoulders and some present day strength, which he showed on occasion with the bat. Harris has a chance to hit at the college level. He flashed a really nice opposite field approach and stroke. When he let the ball travel and committed to right field, he hit the ball with authority. Harris has a flat swing plane and though he has some length in his swing, he can make it work for him by staying through the ball and being on-time. He has good plate coverage and seemed to trust his approach. Defensively Harris flashed some good receiving skills. He put in good effort to block and works hard behind the plate. His pop times will need to really improve, starting with his footwork, then working on transfer. Harris runs pretty well, so perhaps he could make a move to left field where he could focus more on developing his bat.
