Daniel Pomposini is a 2008 C/1B with a 5'11'', 180 lb. frame from Danville, VA who attends George Washington HS. He has a strong build with some physical maturity to him. Pomposini's best tools right now are with the bat. He hits from an open stance and is a confident and aggressive young hitter. He showed very good bat speed at times and has the hand strength and quickness to turn hard on balls with the wood bat. He should continue to develop power as he matures. Pomposini's defensive actions are on the raw side. He shows good athletic quickness behind the plate receives the ball pretty well. He threw 72 mph during drills with a best pop time of 2.00 and really needs to work on his balance and footwork when throwing. He did make accurate throws, though, a testament to his athletic ability. Pomposini is also a good student.

Daniel Pomposini is a young freshman catcher (2008) from Danville, Virginia, and is one of the first 1990 birthdates we've seen, who showed an advanced bat for his age. At 6'1", Pomposini already has good size and leverage to his swing and will definitely be getting stronger. He develops some bat speed with wood, and hits the ball consistently hard out in front of the plate. Pomposini hit one ball 375’ to centerfield and had a nice line drive single to right off an 82 mph fastball, both things most freshman can’t do with wood. Pomposini’s defensive skills are still developing. He has a short, sidearm release on many of his throws which will have to be worked with. Pomposini is a 7.6 runner, good for his age, and can probably play other positions as well. Good long range follow, especially for his power potential!
