Nicholas Modico is a 2009 RHP/1B with a 6' 170 lb frame from Putnam Valley, NY who attends Kennedy Catholic HS. Nicholas has an athletic build with some room to fill out. He shows good polish on the mound with very sound mechanics and great tempo in his delivery. Nicholas showed the ability to locate his pitches well and has nice armside run on his fastball. He has great arm speed on a change-up that has good run and sink action. He shows a tight 11 to 5 curveball with tight spin. Nicholas is a solid student that should attact the attention of many mid to high-level college programs.

Nick Modico is a 2009 RHP with a 6'0'', 160 lb. frame from Putnam Valley NY, who attends JFK Catholic. Modico has a medium sized frame with a slender build. Modico pitches from a 3/4 arm slot and uses a long arm action. He has good looseness in his arm and throws with average effort. He uses drop and drive mechanics with a high knee drive. Modico gets good extension and maintains good balance through out. He gets good sink on his fastball and throws a heavy ball especially when down in the zone. His curveball gets 12/6 movement on it with some late break to it. He gets sink on his change-up. He has good command of the strike zone and throws all three pitches for strikes. Modico is a good young follow and has a projectable build. Modico is also an outstanding student.
