Dan Stith is a 6'5" 220 pound 2006 left handed pitcher and first baseman from Grass Valley, California who attends Nevada Union High School. He has an extra large frame and build with a lot of projection and upside to dream on. He ran an impressive 6.94 60 and threw 83 mph across the diamond with a tender arm. On the mound, he shows a low three quarters arm slot and a loose arm when he throw from a position. Dan settled down in the later innings he pitched and was able to get ahead of hitters more often and be more successful. He shows good promise and with some good instruction as well as some more at bats be quite a force. Stith is a slick fielder at first base but we would like to see him use his speed and move to the outfield. He is a deep projection guy who could go a long way in this game. Dan is a good looking prospect that along with his solid grades will raise some college eyebrows.

Dan Stith is a 6'5" 220 pound 2006 left handed pitcher and first baseman from Grass Valley, California who attends Nevada Union High School. He has a great body with an extra large frame and a lot of projection and upside since he is only 16. Dan has good arm action on the mound and he has a very quick arm as well. He is very full in back and gets out front very well. His fastball topped out at 79 mph which we think will dramatically improve with some instruction and maturity. He throws from a low 3/4 arm slot and has a very loose arm. Stith ran a very impressive 6.94 60 and showed better arm strength than he did on the mound by throwing 83 mph across the infield. He is a slick fielder at first base and with his speed he should be able to jump to an outfield position. At the plate, he showed some good strength and bat speed. He has very good raw power and just needs some more at bats to polish his swing. Dan is a big prospect who could go a long way in this game and along with his decent grades will raise some eyebrows of college programs.

Dan Stith is a 2006 LHP/1B/OF from Nevada Union HS in Grass Valley, CA, with a 6'5", 220 lb. frame. Stith is a big, strong, and athletic player who ran a very good 7.06 sixty on a very slow track. That is impressive for a player of his size. On the mound he throws from a high 3/4 to over the top arm slot and stays tall in his delivery. Stith has a slight hitch in his arm action at the top of his arm arc, but it seems to work for him. He struck out 6 hitters in 3 innings of work. His fastball topped out at 75 mph and he showed good secondary pitches as well throwing them all for strikes. Defensively he works well around the 1B bag with great range and good fielding actions. At the plate the left handed hitter hits from a wide base and has good bat speed. Stith gets good leverage in his swing when he hits off a stiff front leg. There is present strength in his swing with projectable power. Stith is a good two way prospect who plays the game hard and needs to be followed.
