Ennis Coble is a 2009 SS/3B with a 5'10'', 150 lb. frame from Atlanta GA, who attends Chamblee HS. He has a thin wiry build and is just starting to add strength. Coble was named to the showcase Top Prospect Team. He's a good runner with 7.09 speed in the 60 and has good body control and athletic life to his actions. His hands are soft on defense and he has good balance when making different types of plays. How his arm strength develops will determine whether he can stay at shortstop as the game speeds up or whether he might have to move to second base. Coble is a left handed hitter with a very good swing. He has outstanding hitting mechanics, with a quick, short swing and surprising bat speed and pop for his size and age. He does a very good job of squaring up on the ball and can drive it up the gaps right now. Coble is going to keep improving as he gets stronger and could really develop into a premium hitter. Keep a very close eye on him.
