Gerry Gonzalez is a 2008 OF/1B/P with a 5'10" 155 lb frame from Coral Gables, FL who attends Ransom Everglades HS. Gerry has a lean build with room to add a lot of strength. At the plate he shows solid swing fundamentals with the ability to square up some balls and stay short. He really lacks the strength to drive the ball with any consistency and will need to get a lot stronger. In the field Gerry best projects at first base. He doesn't have the arm strength right now for the outfield, but he showed off nice hands and a good feel for the game at first base. On the mound Gerry is a low effort pitcher who throws with a short arm action that produces run to both sides of the plate. Gerry is a good student that could attract the attention of a few smaller colleges.
