Jimmy Crews is a 2008 RHP/OF with a 5'10'', 180 lb. frame from Pembroke Pines FL, who attends Everglades HS. He has a medium frame and a strong, thick lower half. He has a fast paced delivery with a long arm action and an extended 3/4's release point. Crews will get get out of sync with his delivery and where his arm is in its arch and could improve his command and consistency by slowing down his delivery. His fastball was 76-79 mph and pretty straight. Crews referenced that he threw a curveball and a change up but we didn't see him throw either of these pitches at the showcase, so it's hard to give him a full overall evaluation. Crews also plays some outfield. He hits from a spread, balanced approach with an upper body rotational swing and made consistent middle of the field contact. Crews is a good student.
