Niko Gomez is a 2009 C/1B with a 6'0'', 195 lb. frame from Chicago, IL who attends St. Ignatius College Prep. Gomez has a good strong catchers build. He continues to improve his catch and throws skills and had his best pop time we have seen at 1.96. He also shows some arm strength from behind the plate. He is short to the ball in his swing and can drive the ball to all fields. He swings works well and he has good leverage in his swing. He keeps improving each time out and is one to watch. He is also a very good student.

Niko Gomez is a 2009 C/OF/IF with a 5'11'', 190 lb. frame from Chicago IL, who attends St. Ignatius College Prep. He has medium build with good present strength, especially in his lower half, for his age. Gomez has good quickness behind the plate and puts himself in good blocking position. His hands and hand position need some work but improved through the showcase as he got used the higher level pitching talent. His release point on his throws is a bit high. Offensively, Gomez hits out of a slightly open stance and is looking to pull the ball. He has a quick bat and short, level swing and gets good use of his lower half. He showed the ability to keep his hands back on breaking balls even while his lower half was getting ahead. Like his receiving, Gomez' hitting and swing is inconsistent but he flashed real abilty and is still young and improving. Gomez is also a good student.
