Alex Pettee is a 2009 RHP/IF from St Luke's School, residing in New Canaan, Connecticut, with a 5'11"/160 pound frame. Alex Pettee is a 2009 RHP/IF with a 5'10'', 155 lb. frame from New Canaan CT, who attends St Luke's. Pettee has a medium sized frame with a lean athletic build. Pettee pitches from an high 3/4 arm slot with a short arm action. He has a quick arm with good looseness to it. Pettee pitches with some effort and spins off at finish. He throws a 10/4 curveball with nice break to it. He comes around it on occasion, but when he stays on top it has some bite to it. Pettee commands the strike zone well and throws two pitches for strikes. At the plate, Pettee starts with a slightly open stance and starts his swing with a deep load. He has good hand eye coordination and centers the baseball well consistently. Defensively, Pettee sets up well on ground balls and throws with a longer arm action than on the mound. He has nice hands and would benefit from having a more relaxed approach to the ball. He is an outstanding student.
