Albert Espinosa -- Espinosa is a 5-8 sophomore catcher from Miami with a very compact, strong body. This kid has a lot of tools and if any young prospect in the country warrants a Pudge comparison, Espinosa looks and acts the part. Only Espinosa is bigger than Pudge. Espinosa is a tremendous defensive catcher. He shifts quickly and aggressively and has short actions. Espinosa’s arm strength is big league average but his quickness puts his pop times down in the elite range: 1.78 in workouts and 2.03 in games. His throws are right on the bag, too. Espinosa’s shorter arms and barrel chest serve him well with a bat in his hand. He takes a full, aggressive swing with good weight shift and generates great leverage and coil throughout his body. Espinosa has serious raw power and is going to hit a bunch of home runs with his approach. Not only is this a very talented young prospect, he’s fun to watch play, also.
