Christian Walker is a 2009 3B/C with a 6'1'', 210 lb. frame from Limerick, PA who attends Kennedy-Kenrick. Christian has a solid strong build and his hands and arm work in the infield. He runs fairly well. The bat is what makes Christian really stand out. The ball jumps off his bat and he has big power. He has a good stroke with excellent bat speed and hits hard line drives to all fields and can lift the ball. Walker has big power potential and can already drive the ball out of any ball park. He hit several out of the Metrodome in the Rawlings HR contest. Definite bat to follow. He has made a verbal commitment to South Carolina.

Defensively, Walker moves well at 3B with good 3B actions. He showed arm strength in the workout with accurate throws. His feet work well for him and he's got good agility for his size. At the plate, Walker starts with an open stance and gets closed on his stride. He maintains good balance in his swing and has good leverage at contact. Walker has a relaxed approach in the box and has a simple swing. The ball really jumps off his bat and he has big time power potential in there. He gets extension in his swing and stays smooth through the ball. Walker can really hit the baseball! He is a good student.

He is a talented player with a high ceiling in the game and for that he was selected as a Top Prospect at this event. Walker has a strong, well-proportioned and physical body, with good athleticism. His bat is going to draw attention from major college programs and when the time comes, from pro ball as well. He is a middle of the line-up hitter with present day power. His approach is quiet and confident. Defensively his skills fit well both at third base and behind the plate. His feet work well in the infield and his arm plays across the diamond. Both of those attributes translate behind the plate too. Walker's bat is the tool of most interest and it will play well as a 3rd baseman and even better as a catcher. He has the look of a young professional prospect.

Christian is a very young (09), but strong Catcher from PA. He has advanced knowledge behind the plate. He shows nice balance and quick actions with soft hands. His arm should develop, he already shows good online throws. He also looked pretty good at 3B. At the plate he uses all fields with a good plane to through the ball. He has a tendency to drift a little and arm swing, but he has a lot of time to correct it. He's still to young to grade acurately.
