Scott Murray is a 2008 3B/P with a 6'1'', 145 lb. frame from Farmington, NM, who attends Farmington High School. Murray has a lean, wiry, and athletic frame that is projectable. Defensively he throws from a low 3/4 arm slot on his throws across the diamond at 75 mph. Murray has solid actions, and he made some good plays in game action. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from an open stance with a narrow base. He has quiet hands hitting, and he stays inside the ball showing the ability to hit to all fields. Murray has a line drive swing plane, and he stays balanced through his swing. On the mound he also throws from a low 3/4 arm slot. He gets arm side run and sinking action on his fastball that topped out at 79 mph, while working from 77-79 mph. Murray throws a frisbee type curve ball at 71 mph. He is deceptive and will be hard for hitters to hit. He is a good student as well.

Scott Murray is a 2008 right hand pitcher from Farmington HS, residing in Farmington, NM. He has a 6'1" 145 lb. frame and a long, thin, lanky body that is still maturing. He is just now starting to grow into his body and will be able to be graded more fully as he gets stronger. As it is, Murray has some interesting talents on the mound and is a follow prospect. He has a long arm stroke and some present day arm speed that will only get better. His delivery is fluid and he has some rhythm, an indication of good body control. Murray is a strike thrower with a three-pitch mix. His fastball topped at 81 mph and has good sinking action. The harder he throws, the more pronounced that action will be. His slider has good spin and when he learns to put more pressure on the baseball and throw that pitch more aggressively, he has something to work with. His approach is that of a sinker/slider guy and he looks to have a chance to develop both pitches. Murray also showed feel of his change-up that had late downward action. He understands what he wants to do on the mound and how to approach hitters. Given some time to physically develop, he could be quite good. For now Murray is a college prospect and needs to be followed by all levels because he is still a work in progress.
