Chris Bianchi is a 2008 LHP/OF with a 6'2'', 185 lb. frame from Merced CA, who attends Golden Valley HS. He has a strong, broad build on a good frame. Bianchi is a very interesting pitching prosepct and for some college programs could also be considered a two-way prospect. On the mound he has a lively arm and lively stuff. He is still developing command but has all the pitches to be very successful in college and then likely beyond. He has a strong arm (over the top slot) and the ball comes out of his hand easily. His fastball (82-85) has good run and at times was heavy. Bianchi's curveball has good bite and is a potential "out-pitch". He added and subtracted with both the fastball and the curveball, and also showed a change-up. He really does have all the pitches and a good arm, he just needs some polish and to find a consistent release point. At the plate he showed power potential, doing so with an easy swing. His hands work well and he made hard, loud contact.

Chris Bianchi is a 2008 left handed pitcher/left hand hitting outfielder from Golden Valley HS, residing in Merced, CA. He has a 6'2" 185 lb. frame and a strong build, with a broad upper body. He has a good pitcher's body and should continue to fill out and add strength/power. Bianchi is the type of pitcher that a scout can get very excited about. Aside from his present day ability and future projection is the fact that he is not a no-brainer prospect to every scout/coach watching him... but he is that talented. On the mound he has very good arm speed and a strong arm. Bianchi has stab extension on the backside which creates some leverage for his arm stroke. His delivery can be distracting for hitters. His fastball topped at 84 mph and is sneaky to hitters. It has a lot of life at the plate and there is more in there. He is kind of wild, so hitters aren't real comfortable against him. As he develops, his stuff will get even more lively. Bianchi's breaking ball also has a chance. It spins well and has good depth. He throws that pitch aggressively and when his hand gets out front, the action on it is quite good. Everything with Bianchi at this point is about how good he can and will be in a couple of years. Offensively he displayed a short swing and the ball exits his bat well. He made a lot of loud contact and has some present day power. Bianchi's flat swing plane allows him to get some carry on balls that he gets under a bit. He showed good pull side pop. Defensively he has a quick release and sets up to throw well. Consider Bianchi a D1 prospect on the mound and for some programs he is a two-way prospect. If the arm keeps coming on, he just may get some pro consideration in '08 as well.
