Brent Zimmerman is a 2009 SS/P/3B with a 6'0'', 170 lb. frame from Cooper City, FL who attends Nova HS. Medium lean frame. Plus defensive actions, athletic balance, very quick hands, quick feet, gets reads, shortstop arm, can play defense. Good bat speed, hits to all fields, hands the bat head, hardest contact pulling. Also polished pitcher, tops 87 mph with tight CB. Very good all around talent. He was named to the top prospect team at this event.

Brent Zimmerman is a 5'10" 155 pound 2009 right handed pitcher and shortstop from Nova High School in Cooper City, Florida who was named to the Top Prospect Team. He has a slender build that is lean and athletic. Brent throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and has good mechanics. He has a good mound presence especially for his age. He follows through very well and should increase velocity as he gets stronger with a very projectable body. His fastball is a nice pitch with some run at 86 mph. His curveball at 69 mph changes planes very well. Zimmerman hustles in the field. He has solid footwork and fields the ball very smoothly. He showed his arm strength in the infield as well by throwing 82 mph during the workout. At the plate, Brent hits with an open stance that is very narrow. He likes to pull the ball but will use the entire field. He has a level swing and makes solid contact. He has good bat speed that makes the ball jump off his bat. His line drive swing plane creates good power and he stays back well on off speed pitches. Brent is a good looking prospect as both a hitter and pitcher.
