Anthony Drobnick is a 2008 RHP/3B/OF with a 6'3'', 195 lb. frame from Seattle WA, who attends Seattle Prep. Anthony has a tall athletic body and showed very good two-way potential at the showcase. On the mound Anthony already has very good polish where he throws with a short arm action with good arm speed. He has good tempo in his delivery and he finishes online to the plate with good extention. Anthony showed a very solid 11 to 5 downer curveball and is able to throw to pitches for strikes fairly easily. At the plate Anthony has a very solid approach with good bat speed and nice balance. He has a lot of pop in his bat with very good power potential and tons of upside at the plate. In the field Anthony has a very solid arm, but might be more comfortable in a corner outfield position. Anthony is a strong student that should be a highest-level college prospect as a two-way player.

Anthony Drobnick is a 2008 SS/P/3B from Seattle Prep, residing in Seattle, WA, with a 6'2" 190 lb. frame. Drobnick was named to the top prospect team at the California Underclass Showcase. He has wide shoulders and overall it is a good pitcher's body. Pitching appeared to be his strongest current day ability. Drobnick is somewhat projectable. He pitched from an over the top slot and had good front side leverage. There was some drift forward in his delivery but he got downhill with his 82-84 mph FB and was able to torque and spin the CB well (68-71 mph). The CH had 12/6 shape and good downer action. It was his best pitch. He also showed a 75 mph slider looking pitch... may have been a cutter, he threw it only once. Has a developing change-up that will make his other pitches that much better. Drobnick was aggressive with the ball and with his approach. He has good down angle on his pitches through the strike zone, coming from decent extension of his arm. With more time on the mound, he will really benefit. As a hitter he sets-up well to the ball. He has good balance in his swing and some decent bat speed. Drobnick is strong but used an inside/out hand path. Again, he is strong but it is not yet a power swing, not until his path changes. However, the power looks to be in there. He started his swing from a wrapped load of his hands. On defense in the INF he showed a decent arm and an ok release. He was patient to set-up to the ball, not in a hurry. Drobnick has 3rd baseman footwork and range. He stayed low on ground balls and made accurate throws. He also showed decent hands. Consider Drobnick a good '08 follow for many D1 programs, especially on the mound.
