Shane Crain is a 2009 MIF/P with a 6'2", 180 lb frame from Lexington, KY who attends Lexington Christian HS. Shane has a tall athletic build and showed very good two-way potential at the showcase. At the plate Shane has the tools to become a very solid hitter at the next level. He shows solid bat speed and hits through the ball well. Shane is able to center up a lot of pitches, but can run into problems as he gets too long with his swing at times. He tends to roll over some ball and gets rotational in his upper half as his swing gets long. In the field Shane showed very good actions at shortstop. He has a loose and easy arm action and is very light and active on his feet. His actions are all above average and Shane just looks like a player when he steps on the field. On the mound Shane is a very raw mechanically, but does show a short quick arm action and a solid 11 to 5 curveball. Shane is a strong student that should attract the attention of highest-level college programs across the country.

Shane Crain is a 2009 3B/MIF/P with a 6'1'', 175 lb. frame from Lexington KY, who attends Lexington Christian Academy. Shane has a good young body with an athletic build. Shane has soft hands and moves around well defensively. He has smooth easy actions with solid arm strength. Shane showed range to his glove hand side and can make the flashy play. At the plate, Shane has a good load and set up in swing. He has good stride timing and stays balanced through his swing. Shane has bat speed and has good leverage at contact. He uses his hands well and has power potential. Shane pitches from a 3/4 arm slot and has a short quick arm action. He has a simple delivery and has some effort. He throws a solid 10/4 curveball and a sinking change-up. He has good feel for his pitches and his arm works well. Shane is a solid two-way young follow.
