Adrian Mendoza is a 2007 SS/P with a 5'10'', 150 lb. frame from Rialto CA, who attends Bloomington Christian HS. Mendoza has lean, wiry athletic build that still has physical maturation ahead. He is a solid all-around player, offensively, defensively, and most interestingly, on the mound. He is a contact line drive hitter with a nice hitting approach and an easy, short swing. He has quick hands and good hand-eye coordination, showing the ability to hit to all fields. Defensively he also shows those good hands, to go along with good footwork and a strong arm. Mendoza plays the game with some feel and baseball savvy. Though he is not big, it is on the mound where Mendoza may have the most upside. He is aggressive and has very good mound presence. He pitches from an over the top slot and has an athletic delivery. Mendoza's fastball reached up to 84 and sat in the low-mid 80s, but there is more in there with physical gains. He throws both a slider and curveball with feel and both have good, tight spin. The 79 mph slider is a quality out-pitch. He holds runners well and looked very comfortable on the hill. Mendoza is a very good student, and has a bright future in the game. He is still developing his body, but his skills are quite polished. The best of him is yet to come.

Adrian Mendoza is a 2007 SS/P with a 5'10'', 150 lb. frame from Rialto CA, who attends Bloomington Christian. Mendoza has a thin body with a lean build. Defensively, Mendoza has good hands with arm strength across the diamond. He has a quick first step to the ball and has good body control when approaching the ball. He is a versitle defender who can play many positions well. At the plate, Mendoza uses a contact hitter's approach and swings on a line drive swing path. He has a short stroke and is a good situational hitter. Mendoza pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a very good arm action. He has arm speed with a smooth delivery. Mendoza commands both sides of the plate. Outstanding student.

Adrian Mendoza is a 2007 SS/P with a 5'10'', 150 lb. frame from Rialto CA, who attends Bloomington Christian HS. Named a Top Prospect at this event. Mendoza has an athletically proportioned body with room to handle significant future strength and size gains. If he can stay loose, he could really come on as a player. He is an interesting player and has very good ability both as a position player and on the mound. He is a contact, line drive spray type hitter, with a very relaxed, easy swing. His hands are very good and he is going to be able to hit for consistently high average. Defensively his arm stroke is a bit long for the middle of the diamond but he has good body control and decent hands, to go with a strong arm. It was on the mound where Mendoza really shined. He has a long arm stroke and pitches from a high 3/4 slot, with a quick and loose arm. The ball comes out easily, with his fastball topping at 85, with a little sink. His arm speed and arm action suggest an easy move into the upper 80s when his body develops further. Mendoza's best pitch is his curveball. It has 11/5 shape and at times late, snappy action. He showed advanced feel of that pitch, which is a legitimate out-pitch. If his curveball is his best pitch, Mendoza's change-up is not far behind. He threw it with easy feel and plus hand speed. He does change his slot a bit with the change, but is still an above average pitch. Mendoza is a top end student and a very projectable player, with upside on the mound and as a hitter. Follow him closely, he should really come on next summer.
