George Sutherland is a 2017 SS/2B with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from East Northport, NY who attends Northport Senior. Medium-large frame with long, lean present build; body projects well moving forward. Ran extremely well, posting a 6.59 seconds 60 yard dash time. Sets up to hit from open stance, slightly crouched, simple swing path with easy repeatable mechanics, has bat speed with loft in path, extends well through contact, fluid and easy. Drives the ball on a line consistently, projects well for both average and power. Fields out front in the infield, has some feel to both backhand and forehand, easy strides to both sides, made accurate throws across the diamond with arm strength clocked up to 77 MPH. Named to 2016 Sunshine Northeast Top Prospect List. Good student.
