Jake Cruz is a 2019 RHP/1B with a 6-3 250 lb. frame from Dartmouth, MA who attends Dartmouth. Extra large frame with broad, very strong build. Primary righthanded pitcher; compact arm stroke through the back, easy effort delivery with good direction and tempo, throws from high three quarters slot with good plane. Fastball worked 78-80 mph with good arm side run; can sink it at times as well. Shows slider with good tilting action; flashed changeup at times with moderate feel for the pitch. Located well. Hits from high hands/back elbow set stance, smaller stride, has strength to swing, flashed ability to drive the ball to pull field into the air. Worked out at 1st base, flashes clean actions with hands, decent footwork around the bag, throws clocked up to 73 mph across the diamond. Good student.
