(6.80) A the plate Joshua hits with a simple no-stride approach and makes consistent solid contact. He lacks the strength right now to really drive the ball consistently. In the outfield Joshua has easy actions to go along with his speed. His throws are accurate and he should make a solid college leftfielder. Joshua is a player that should attract the attention of many mid-level college programs.

Joshua Webb is a 2007 OF from Commack HS in Commack, NY with a 5'9", 165 lb. frame. Joshua has an athletic build and ran the fasted 60 at the showcase with a time of 6.93. At the plate Joshua hits from a wide stance with a no stride approach. With more of a trigger in his swing Joshua would drive the ball harder consistently. He did show solid bat speed and nice extension through contact. He has plenty of raw hitting tools and just needs to work on his basic approach right now. In the outfield Joshua has great range and throws from a short arm circle. At this point Joshua probably will need to stick to left field. Joshua is a solid student with good overall athletic ability that should attract the attention of many mid-level Division I Colleges.

Defensively, Webb has good range in the outfield as his straight line 60 speed (6.88) transfers to his play in the outfield. He throws with a short arm action and he has a quick arm. He makes consistent online throws and has a quick release. At the plate, Webb starts with a wide base and uses a toe tap trigger to start his swing. He uses a short load and has quick hands. He swings on a flat level plane and is presently a contact hitter. Webb maintains good balance through his swing and has present line drive power. He will hit for more power as he learns to use more of his lower half in his swing. Webb is a very good student.

Webb is a good runner (6.92) and it transfers over to his defensive range in the outfield. He has a high release and throws with a short arm action. He has arm strength with carry on his throws. At the plate, Webb starts with a straight stance with a solid wide base. He has a quiet approach in the box and doesn't use a load to start his swing. He takes a short stride and stays balanced through his swing. Webb has quick hands and gets the bat head to the baseball well. He swings on a level plane and is a line drive hitter. He looks to hit the ball up the middle and to the pull side. He has a controlled swing and has bat speed. Webb projects to be a table setter type hitter at the next level.
