Jack Mori is a 2017 OF/RHP with a 6-2 218 lb. frame from San Mateo, CA who attends Junipero Serra HS. Large frame with a solid build and present strength. Ran a 7.50 sixty yard dash. Primary outfielder with compact, athletic strides while closing to the baseball. Clean glove actions while picking up the baseball and working through transition. Creates accurate, on line through with a smooth arm stroke, topped at 83 mph. Repeats mechanics well throughout defensive workouts. Left handed hitter with an upright, balanced stance. Lower half shows rotational actions to contact producing some shift. Hands launch on a compact, inside path to contact creating a line drive plane through extension. Ball jumps off the barrel well when working to the pull side gaps. Has a simple approach and repeated swing mechanics well throughout batting practice. Also pitched showing a simple side step to leg lift delivery. Releases from an over top arm slot that generated solid downhill angle to the plate. Fastball flashed sinking action with occasional run to the plate in the low 80's, topped at 83 mph. Flashed a slider with tight rotation and sharp, late tilt at times. Showed best tilt and bite with slider when maintaining arm speed through extension. Very good student as well.
