Daniel Mascaro is a 2017 LHP/1B/OF with a 5-11 145 lb. frame from Walnut Hill, FL who attends Northview HS. Medium-compact frame with projection remaining and room to fill out, add strength. Primary lefthanded pitcher, has a measured, deliberate windup. Works to an overhand arm slot, stays balanced in delivery and remains online to the plate. Fastball up to 71 mph, has some downhill plane and some natural tailing and sinking life, can be effective down in the zone. Developing feel for curveball with 12/6 break, also flashed a changeup in mid-60s with small fade. Also worked out at first base, arm-action is clean, and the ball comes out well. Fields the ball out in front, but could work on keeping momentum and working through the baseball, following the ball after release. Left handed hitter, toe-tap timing mechanism with active, high hands set. Selective approach at the plate. Developing strength and bat speed, flashes solid contact to opposite field. Very good student.
