2016 Mid Atlantic Top Prospect Showcase
Stephen Cotoni is a 2017 OF with a 5-9 170 lb. frame from Mount Laurel, NJ who attends Lenape High School. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, present strength throughout frame, additional room to grow stronger. Ran a 6.87 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, shows nice energy moving towards the ball with short and quick steps, fields the ball out front, occasionally opens front side early prior to release, quick arm action through the backside and gets on top of throws well with solid present arm strength, shows accuracy to throws too. Righthanded hitter, begins with a tall and slightly open stance, hands start tight to body. Uses a leg lift trigger for timing in the box, upper body dominant swing but projects nicely with addtional lower half as hands are quick through the zone with lift to swing path. Shows comfort in working all fields and looks to elevate the ball, shows carry to the opposite field with good barrel speed through the zone. Named to Mid Atlantic Top-Top Prospect List.
