Daniel Palombi is a 2007 C/OF from Lafayette HS in Lexington, KY with a 6'0", 170 lb. frame. Daniel has a lean athletic build and did very well in the workouts in batting practice and behind the plate. At the plate Daniel hits from a short squat stance with very good balance in his swing. His swing is short and simple and produces consistent line-drive contact. Daniel tooks one of the better batting practices at the event. Behind the plate Daniel showed a very quick release with solid arm strength. His pop time of 2.00 was one of the best at the showcase. Daniel has the potential to be a mid to high-level Division I recruit.

Daniel Palombi is an 07 catcher/outfielder from Lafayette HS in Lexington, KY. He projects nicely with a lean 6-0/165 frame that should fill in very well. As a catcher he shows good arm strength and accuracy. His transfers are quick and smooth resulting in pop times around 2 flat. He shows soft hands and quick feet. He’s a very good defensive receiver with good blocking skills. As an outfielder he features excellent running ability – 6.8 60 yd time and the same nice arm. Palombi is very athletic. At the plate, he has a nice quiet approach out of a spread stance. He has good balance in a fairly level swing path. Excellent bat speed that should produce good power numbers as he gets older and bigger. Shows that he can handle the wood. His athletic ability, projectable body, and present skill level make him a solid follow in the 07 class. Potentially a highest level prospect who should improve in all areas over the next year. Palombi is an excellent student and seems to have outstanding makeup. He’s a player to watch, who could develop as a catcher or as an outfielder at the next level. PG Grade 8.5 possible 9.5 – BA Grade 3 possible 4.
