Brent Warren is a 2008 OF/P/1B with a 6'3'', 175 lb. frame from Robins IA, who attends Xavier HS. He has an outstanding young athletic build, with broad shoulders and long legs. Warren hasn't started to add much size and strength yet but has the frame to be very strong. Warren is an excellent runner, with 6.56 speed in the 60 and long, graceful running strides. With some strength and speed work he could be even faster. He can track down the ball in the outfield and has textbook fielding and throwing actions. Warren has very good bat speed at the plate. He takes an aggressive pull type of swing and attacks the ball. He tends to pull off the ball right now and doesn't appear to see it too well at the plate unless the pitch is on the inside half. This can be corrected. Warren has plenty of loft in his swing and projects lots of power. Warren also threw some off the mound, topping out at 84 mph with a good 68 mph curveball and very good pitching mechanics. We've seen Warren throw much harder and it didn't appear as if his arm was in throwing shape. Warren is a high ceiling young talent who could develop into a top level prospect. Watch him very closely. He is also a good student.

Brent Warren is a 2008 left hand hitting outfielder/left handed pitcher from Xavier HS, residing in Robins, IA. Named a Top Prospect at this event. He has a 6'3" 175 lb. frame wiht a long, lanky, rangy, athletic body type that by most standards is quite projectable. In a very unfortunate turn of events, it was discovered late in 2006 that he has a hear condition that likely will keep him from playing baseball again. Warren's long term health is a bigger concern and of more importance than his baseball ability, but just to be clear, if he were healthy enough to play, he would be one of the top prospect's in the '08 class. Warren possesses plus bat speed and easy pullside power. His hands work very well and his flat swing is quite lively. He has the ability to create spin of the ball off the bat at contact which creates tremendous carry and his penchant for making consistent barrel contact would project well-above average power. Warren sprays hard line drives to all fields and with his above average underway speed, there would be exciting opportunities to see him legging out doubles and triples. Defensively Warren showed aggressiveness to the ball and athleticism in the outfield. His release is good and his arm has carry, resulting in accurate, on-line throws. Warren showed some ballhawking instincts, though at times misread the ball off the bat. He profiles well as a right fielder, in all regards. On the mound Warren has a long, loose arm with a deep stab on the backside that created some leverage. His delivery was fluid and there is projection for him as a pitching prospect. His fastball has life down in the zone and good arm side run, with velocity up to 83 mph. His curveball has 12/6ish break and good bit. He controlled the breaker well and threw it with feel. Warren would be considered a strong two-way prospect at the D1 level and a high round draft prospect as a position player.

Brent Warren is a 2008 OF/P/1B with a 6'3'', 175 lb. frame from Robins, IA, who attends Xavier HS. Warren has a tall, lean, athletic, and projectable body. He can do it all. Defensively he moves very well to balls and gets good reads off the bat. He has the speed to play all the OF spots, and he has the arm strength to play RF as well. At the plate he is a left handed hitter with excellent bat speed and bat control. Warren takes an aggressive swing on balls in the zone and stays on the ball well with a nice line drive swing plane. He uses all fields with big-time power projection. Warren line a 91 mph FB back up the middle off highly ranked Kyle O'Campo in his first AB of the showcase. He runs very well for his size and has instincts for the game. On the mound he throws with a smooth and easy arm action that produces a mid-80s fastball with arm side life. He also mixes in a 68 mph curveball with depth and a solid change at 68 mph. Warren is one of the top 2008 prospects in the country and is a must follow. He has great upside, and is a good student as well.

Brent Warren is a 2008 OF/P/1B with a 6'3'', 175 lb. frame from Robins IA, who attends Xavier HS. He has a lean, athletic build and excellent strength projection. Warren is a graceful and easy runner at 6.79 in the 60 and 4.28 down to first base. His bat really stood out at the showcase. He hits from an open approach at the plate and shows quick hands and very good present bat speed. Warren swung the bat very well in the games and turned around some high velocity fastballs and drove them hard. He has some lift and extension in his swing and it's easy to project plus power in the future. He's an advanced hitter with a high ceiling. Warren didn't throw from the outfield but shows very good and projectable arm strength from the mound. He threw 84 mph with a loose and easy arm and a overhand release point, although his future is clearly in the outfield and in the batter's box. Warren is also a good student.

Brent Warren is a 2008 OF/P/1B with a 6'3'', 170 lb. frame from Robins IA, who attends Xavier HS. He has an excellent athletic body that projects off the charts. We've seen Warren play the outfield in the past, although he just pitched and didn't hit at this showcase, and he grades out just as highly, if not higher, as a position prospect. He's that kind of athlete. On the mound, Warren throws from a leg raise delivery with a full hip turn and stays very balanced above the rubber. He has a slight hesitation at the top of his delivery to let his arm catch up. Warren throws from an extended high 3/4's release point and has very good leverage and downhill angle to the plate on his pitches. There's not much mechanically that you would want to work with on Warren's delivery. Warren't fastball was 83-85 mph and was very steady in velocity and life. His curveball was 73 mph and was a hard, down breaking hammer when Warren kept his fingers on top of it. He also showed good arm speed and some fading action on a low 70's change up. Warren is a National Level Follow as a left handed pitcher and likely as an outfielder as well. You will be hearing a lot about him over the next few years. Warren is also a very good student.

Brent Warren is a 2008 outfielder/left handed pitcher from Robins, Iowa, with a long and lean 6'2", 155 lb. frame. Warren was one of the top prospects at the event. He showed very good speed in the 60 (6.95), defensively, and on the bases. Warren showed good arm speed from the outfield and the ball comes out of his hand cleanly. He also had soft hands and good defensive actions at first base. He has solid bat speed with a balanced swing. Warren likes the ball on the inner half and is a dead pull hitter. He has power potential, but needs to hit the ball where it is pitched. On the mound, he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with clean arm action and little effort. His fluid delivery helped produce a fastball that topped out at 80 mph. He also mixed in a 1 to 7 curveball at 68 mph, and a changeup at 68 mph. Warren had good control of his pitches, and maintained his velocity out of the stretch. Warren has the skills to be a top two way prospect in the future, he really projects and is a must follow. He is also a very good student.
