T.J. Kerins is a 2008 RHP/C with a 6'0'', 185 lb. frame from Marietta, GA, who attends Walton HS. Named to the Top Prospect Team. Kerins has a large frame with present strength and more to come. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a long, loose arm. Kerins has a quick and live arm that helped produce a fastball that topped out at 84 mph. He mowed down hitters during the showcase using his fastball and breaking ball, but it was his changeup that stood out. He kept good arm speed on the pitch with good arm side fade and sink. Defensively he showed arm strength behind the plate and worked hard. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits with an open stance. Kerins shows raw power in his swing with solid bat speed. He likes the ball on the inner half looking to pull the ball, but at times he struggles with the outside pitch. Kerins has good upside on the mound, and is a good student as well.
