Stedman Smith is a 2007 OF with a 5'9'', 165 lb. frame from Humble TX, who attends Nimitz HS. He has a young, medium framed body with projectable strength. Smith showed very good defensive ability in the outfield. His 60 and home to first times don't show impressive raw speed but Smith gets very good jumps on fly balls and runs precise routes. He has a very strong and accurate arm as well. Offensively, Smith is a left handed hitter who hits from a dead start with no trigger or load. Once he gets the bat going Smith shows some hand strength and quickness and the ball jumped pretty well on contact. He tends to commit his swing early and get out in front of balls. Smith's hitting skills are raw but he shows the ability to drive the ball once he works through getting the bat started.
