Neil Holland is a 2007 RHP/MIF with a 6'0'', 174 lb. frame from Owensboro KY, who attends Owensboro Catholic HS. He has a very live looking middle infielder's body and athletic, balanced actions in everything that he does. His frame is wide enough to project future strength gains. Holland throws from a simple, easy low effort delivery that enables him to remain very consistent and on line to the plate. He has a fast arm that is short in back and long in front. Holland's fastball was 85-87 with some running action at times. Both his curveball and change up were quality secondary pitches. Holland's curveball was 70 mph with very sharp biting action at times and had hitters backing off the plate. His 74 mph change up had nice sink and Holland maintained very good arm speed. Holland also showed some hitting ability, using a short, compact swing to make solid contact in the cages against live pitching. Holland is a very good young follow and athlete and should be watched closely. He is also a very good student.
