Brett Schwartz is a 6-0, 180 lb right handed pitcher from Michigan who also plays the infield. He has an unusual delivery on the mound, with a hunched over upper body and an exaggerated cross body delivery that presents a different release point for hitters, especially right handed hitters. Schwartz's arm action is long and loose and he gets good extension out front. His fastball was 82-85 mph with the kind of tailing action you'd expect from that release point. He wrapped his curveball in back but got very good and tight spin on the pitch at 70-72 mph. Schwartz's curveball had very good depth and had right handed hitters backing away from the ball. Schwartz also threw a couple of 75 mph change ups that had some quality to them. Overall, he looks like an uncomfortable pitcher to hit against. Schwartz also had one of the best showcases of any player with the bat. He does a very good job of keeping his hands back and adjusting to different pitch speeds and driving through the ball with hands. He had a number of hard hits and was on just about every pitch he saw. Schwartz's defensive tools profile him to third base. He's a good all around baseball player with lots of skills. Good follow.
