Leo Clarke is a 2017 OF/RHP with a 6-4 180 lb. frame from Port Jefferson Station, NY who attends St John Baptist High School. Extra large frame, lean, slender build, athleticism, and room to continue to fill out physically and add strength. Posted a 7.04 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary outfielder, showed short footwork to ball with developing actions through the ball and raw arm strength. At the plate, started with a wide base, open stance, high hand set, high back elbow, and utilized a leg lift timing mechanism. Linear swing path through the zone with a deeper hand load into swing. Developing bat speed with a swing that primarily works through hands. Will continue to improve at the plate with lower half incorporation and added strength. Also pitched, started with a short rocker step, high leg raise, compact delivery, good tempo, and threw from a tight, high three quarter arm slot. Looked to pitch backwards with a big breaking curveball with depth at 62 mph. Fastball worked 70-72/73 mph and flashed plane to lower third, keeping the ball low. Will improve on the mound and add velocity with incorporation of lower half.
