Bobby Crocker is a 2008 OF/RHP with a 6'3'', 195 lb. frame from Aromas, CA who attends Aptos HS. He has an excellent athletic body with tons of strength potential as he gets older. Crocker is very athletic and runs very well for his size. He was 6.72 in the 60 and was consistently between 4.15 and 4.27 down to first base from the right side. He plays centerfield now and has the tools for either that position or more likely right field in the future. He has very good on line carry on his throws. Crocker has the bat speed to be an outstanding hitting prospect but will have to modify his swing mechanics to reach his potential. He hits out of a tall stance with a big and busy two piece load/wrap that creates timing problems and makes him long to the ball. Crocker has good leverage and strength at contact when he's hitting the ball up the middle or to the opposite field but he tends to get choppy trying to catch up to stuff on the inner half. The tools are there for him to blossom at the plate if he can make the adjustments. Crocker is an excellent student who has a verbal to Cal Poly.

Bobby Crocker is a 2008 OF with a 6'3'', 195 lb. frame from Aromas CA, who attends Aptos HS. Selected as a Top Prospect at this event. He has a plus body, with strong, athletic proportions and playable athleticism. Crocker is both strong and fast and looks like the he would be an outstanding wide receiver or free safety if he played football. There are many many ways that he impacts the game and he is still developing as a player. At the plate he has excellent hands and a short, quick, powerful stroke that in time will produce good power numbers. His swing plane creates a lot of spin at contact and resulting carry, thusly giving Crocker the type of stroke that has his mistake swings getting deep into the gaps. He stays in the middle of the field and stays back on offspeed stuff very well. He bursts out of the box and immediately puts pressure on the defense. Crocker is a very good baserunner, always looking to take the extra base. He has the tools that profile as a legitimate speed/power prospect. Defensively he has excellent range and showed the ability to play any outfield position, including centerfield. He has a strong accurate arm that plays well and with his excellent body control, he can get rid of the ball quickly. Crocker gets good jumps and can close on a ball. He is an exciting player and also an outstanding student.

Bobby Crocker is a 2008 right hand hitting outfielder from Aptos HS, residing in Aromas, CA. Named a Top Prospect at this event. He has a 6'3" 195 lb. frame and a body that has plus plus athletic proportions. He is strong and very well put-together, with movements that boarder on explosive. Crocker is the type of baseball athlete that gets scouts excited and start them dreaming big. He is still a ways from being a polished and complete player, but he flashes four, boarding on five tools that are all above average or approaching that level. Offensively he has a short swing and plus bat speed, particularly as he accelerates through contactd. He has excellent body control and maintains balance throughout the swing. Crocker stays in the middle of the field and has a simple approach. His hands work well and fire quickly, allowing him to let the ball travel and to hit where pitched. His swing plane has some steepness to it at times but generally is flat through the hitting zone, creating spin off the bat and reslulting carry. That is not always apparent, but it comes out often enough to know it is in there. He is presently a line drive hitter who can carry a ball into and through the gaps, but the power will come. After he makes contact though is when Crocker gets really fun to watch. He bursts out of the box full speed in a couple of steps and runs the bases hard. He takes aggressive turns and is always putting pressure on the defense by looking for the extra base. He runs the bases the way coaches and scouts wish all players would. Crocker is the type of player that brings excitement and raises anticipation each time he comes to the plate. Defensively he plays with easy and fluid movements in the outfield. He has a strong arm with some carry and is capable of playing all three outfield positions in an above average manner. He approaches the ball aggressively but under control, giving himself an excellent opportunity to throw out baserunners. A top notch outfield coach could make Crocker an elite defesive player. Crocker also pitched in this event, though he has limited time on the mound. He had an outstanding outing and his success can be directly attributed to his athleticism and competitiveness. His fastball moves a lot, particularly in a cutting manner, whether he knew what he was doing is debatable. His baby slider was also very good and quite effective. The tight spin and visible dot suggest that he has the makings of a very good true slider. He threw strikes, competed and acted almost like he was a closer with a ton of experience. His feel of the game translated to the mound. Crocker is one of the more exciting players and is a top tier D1 prospect who is also going to gain pro interest in spring '08.
